Initially established as an independent entity monitoring COVID-19 mitigation efforts within the MA Department of Correction (DOC), the Office of the Ombudsman has proudly evolved. Our mission now extends to serving as an independent health and wellness advisor to the DOC.
This expansion signifies our commitment to fostering a healthier environment for everyone within the DOC. We aim to ensure that both DOC staff and incarcerated individuals benefit from informed, compassionate, and comprehensive wellness guidance.
Our role encompasses monitoring, advising, and advocating for effective health practices and policies. We’re here to listen, support, and guide, ensuring a healthier future for all within the DOC.
